Terms and Conditions

Please see below the full details of our terms and conditions which all fittings are subject too.

  1. Terms:

    1. The terms and conditions outline below are applicable to all accepted orders whether this is a service or goods.

    2. Please carefully read these terms, they outline who we are, what service we will provide, what to do if there is a problem and any other relevant information. If there are any issues with these terms, please get in touch.

    3. The words “writing” or “written” used in these terms include email correspondence.

  2. Company and Contact Information

    2. If we need to contact you, we will contact you be telephone or by writing at the email address or postal address provided.

Disclaimer

Horses can be unpredictable and horse riding is a high-risk sport which is undertaken at your own risk. Sarum Saddlery cannot be held responsibility for any accidents or injuries that occur during or after the saddle fitting consultation. We expect all riders to hold their own rider’s insurance and third-party liability cover for their horses.

 

  1. Services provided:

    1. At Sarum Saddlery we provide the following services: Saddle fitting, bridle fitting, new and custom-made goods, repairs, and re-flocking.

    2. We will endeavor to book an appointment with you as soon as possible, however you will be given a lead time when you get in touch to book an appointment.

    3. Saddle Fitting Consultations:

      1. Saddle fitting consultations take approximately 1 hour 30 minutes.

      2. Saddle fitting consultations consist of a static, dynamic, and ridden assessment of your horse, during this period templates and other necessary information will be recorded. For a more comprehensive breakdown of the fitting procedure please see this section on the webpage.

      3. We will fit your own current saddle, if the saddle does not fit or is not deemed suitable to be used on a horse, we reserve the right to refuse fitting.

      4. Please note we may not carry a suitable saddle at the time of the fitting consultation, in this instance we will advise of suitable saddles or will try to source a suitable saddle on your behalf.

    4. Bridle Fitting Consultations

      1. Bridle fitting consultations take approximately 45 minutes.

      2. Bridle fitting consultations consist of static and ridden assessment. Images may be taken to assist these assessments. All necessary information will be recorded.

      3. We will fit your own current bridle and take measurements for made to measure items.

      4. We reserve the right to cancel or not proceed with consultations if the horse is deemed uncomfortable or is referred for treatment.

    5. Repair work:

      1. Repair work can be undertaken at our workshop.

      2. Estimates will be given prior to completing work, work will not commence until written confirmation is received from the client they are happy to proceed with the estimate.

      3. We reserve the right to refuse to complete work if it any items are deemed unsound or could cause harm due to condition or age.

      4. Any saddles which are found to be damaged when the panel is dropped and likely to cause harm to the horse, will be returned to owner in parts, but will NOT be stitched back together where they could be used on a horse and cause harm.

    6. New Goods:

      1. New goods are available, these are covered by the 14 day right to cancel policy. Refunds will be given in full for items which have not been used and are in the same condition as when sold. If used, a percentage will be deducted to reflect this use.

    7. Bespoke and Custom-made:

      1. Bespoke or custom items are not covered by the 14 day right to cancel.

      2. Returns and refunds are not accepted for bespoke or custom items.

 

  1. Customer responsibilities:

    1. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure the horse is clean and dry and in a fit state for a saddle or bridle fitting appointment.

    2. If we arrive at the consultation and the horse is lame or in pain, the consultation will not continue.

    3. Saddles need to be checked regularly for fit, it is your responsibility to book follow-up appointments.

We reserve the right to cancel or postpone the appointment if the outlined requirements are not met, the customer will be liable for the cost of the appointment.

  1. Please allow 30 minutes either side of your appointment in case of early or late arrival. In the event that we are running early or late to your consultation we will contact you via telephone at the earliest opportunity.

  2. If you, the customer is running late, please inform us as soon as possible. If after 30 minutes you have not arrived, this will be deemed as a failure to attend the appointment and liable to charges as outlined below.

  3. Failure to attend the appointment will be invoiced for the full consultation rate plus mileage charges.

 

  1. Ridden Requirements:

    1. As part of the saddle fitting consultation, the horse will need to be seen ridden. Please be prepared to ride.

    2. If more than one rider usually rides, it is optimum to have the rider that does so most often available.

 

  1. Cancellation Policy:

    1.  We require 48 hours notice for cancellations.

    2. Cancellations up to 48 hours prior to consultation will be charged at 50% of the consultation fee.

    3. Cancellations less than 24 hours will be liable to full cost of the consultation fee.

 

  1. Payment Conditions:

    1. Fittings:

      1. Payment is required in full at time of booking, your booking will not be confirmed until payment is received

      2. A 50% deposit is required for new and custom goods, with the remainder of the balance paid on delivery.

      3. Sarum Saddlery reserves all title to goods until paid for in full.

      4. Payment can be made by card or bank transfer.

    2. Repairs:

      1. All repairs will be given estimates prior to work starting, work will only be started once agreement is received in writing. This includes text and social media messages.

      2. Invoices will be sent on completion of work.

      3. Payment should be made within 7 days of the invoice date or on collection of items.

      4. Payment can be made by bank transfer.

 

  1. Fees:

    1. Consultation, mileage and flocking are charged separately.

    2. The consultation covers fitting of one horse and one saddle. Additional horses and saddles incur additional fees.

    3. Mileage is charged in addition to consultation. If more than one customer is booked at the same premises, mileage will be split between customers equally.

    4. Flocking and adjustments are charged in addition.

    5. Repairs or items requiring being taken away to the workshop such as a re-flock will be quoted for, no work will be completed until written agreement is received.

 

  1. Issues:

    1. Horses change shape regularly, many factors can affect a horse’s shape including but not limited to, change in weight, workload or soundness. These can all impact the fit of the saddle and it remains the responsibility of the owner to monitor these changes for optimum fit of the saddle over a period.

    2. Sarum Saddlery should be contacted in the first instance should any issues or problems with saddles occur.

    3. Faulty items will need to be returned to us for assessment and may need to be returned to manufacturer.

 

  1. Complaints:

    1. Complaints should be made in writing to Sarum Saddlery.

 

These terms and conditions do not affect your statutory right in any way.
